Allen County Museum
The John H. Keller Railroad Archives, located inside of the Allen County Museum, is one of the largest repositories of railroad history in the country. The collections contain Shay and Rod Builder’s negatives and prints, and specification sheets from the Lima Locomotive Works. In addition, the collection contains extensive amounts of material from the New York Central, ICC records, thousands of books, periodicals, timetables and assorted reference data covering numerous railroads.
Whether you are doing research for a book or magazine, restoring an LLW built locomotive, or pursuing a hobby in model railroading, our Railroad Curator will be happy to assist you. Contact Mr. Charles Bates with your queries. Please call to schedule an appointment in advance as hours for the archives vary: (419)-222-9426. Or e-mail: cbates@wcoil.com.
