Allen County Museum

More than thirty years ago, the Allen County Historical Society was the first in the state to offer a hands-on history program for children.  Children’s programming has remained a priority for the organization.  In 2007, with the Phase I expansion of the Museum, the new Children’s Discovery Center opened to record attendance.  The Center offers a Native American wigwam, one-room schoolhouse, general store, log cabin, model railroad layout, classroom, and a large changing exhibit and activity area.  Learn how to send a telegram or share a secret using the whisper tube.  Special programs are also offered requiring pre-registration.  To learn more about these programs, visit our Calendar or Paddy’s Place.

Groups and school field trips are welcome with advanced scheduling.  Please call the Museum to schedule your group.  419-222-9426.
